What is the Folk Skills Guild?

The Folk Skills Guild swings the door wide open to what’s happening at Green Door Folk School, offering a way to stay connected to your craft practices and folk school community. Membership includes how-to guides from recent classes, complementary tickets to select events, last-minute discounts, and free open studio time. It’s also a great way to support Green Door’s ongoing operations as we grow!

What you get as a member.

A simple, one-page guide from one of our instructors, delivered to your inbox each month. The how-to guides offer a high-level overview of a craft, along with the instructor’s most important takeaways, practical tips, and sparks of inspiration you can carry into your own practice or rituals.

Enjoy free access to short, 1–2 hour classes and lectures that offer a real taste of a craft. These sessions are typically around $50, but they’re included for free with your membership.

Get access to Open Studio at Green Door on the first Wednesday of each month from 8 am to 8pm. Use our studio space with tables, chairs, focused lighting, and wide-open floors. Settle in with flowing coffee and tea, or take your work outside among the gardens, goat farm, handmade trails, and outdoor seating.

When a class needs one or two more people to run, we’ll drop you an exclusive offer for discounted last-minute tickets at up to 50% off—for you or a friend.
