The Wheel of Your Year

January 17, 2026 @ 10:30 am - 2:30 pm
$96.00 – $144.00

Join green witch and naturalist Summer Hennessy for a guided journey through The Wheel of the Year, an ancient cycle of eight seasonal festivals marking the solstices, equinoxes, and their midpoints. For centuries, these celebrations have offered people rhythm, meaning, and connection to the land, the seasons, and one another.

Together, we’ll explore the origins and symbolism of the Wheel and move through each of its turning points. You’ll discover how to weave each season’s ancient wisdom into your modern life for a deeper connection with nature’s rhythms.

We’ll spend extra time with Imbolc (February 2nd), a tender, hope-filled midwinter celebration of what’s quietly growing beneath the surface. To honor the season, participants will craft smudge smoke wands, milk baths, oil candles, and Brighid’s crosses for the hearth and home.

The day will begin with learning about The Wheel, followed by a lunch break and seasonal treats. In the afternoon, we’ll turn to hands-on crafting, letting the lessons of the Wheel come to life in our own creations.

Meet Your Instructor:

Summer Hennessy

Summer Hennessy is a practicing green witch whose work weaves together nature, craft, and community. Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, she has always had a love for foraging, body care, baking, crafting, event planning, energy and magic work, curious minds, and sharing her passions with others.

After moving with her husband and two boys to Illinois ten years ago, Summer fell in love with the region’s shifting seasons and native plants. She became a certified Master Naturalist through the University of Illinois and joined Grand Prairie Friends, a prairie restoration and preservation organization.

Five years ago, the Hennessy family relocated to Traverse City, drawn by its lakes, trails, and abundant outdoor beauty. There, Summer continues to celebrate the natural rhythms of the land through The Wheel of the Year, an ancient cycle of eight seasonal festivals honoring life’s continual transformation.

Her small business, Acorn Moon Mercantile, was born from that devotion to the turning seasons, offering ever-changing, ephemeral treasures to help others connect more deeply with the subtle seasonal shifts throughout the year.
