Pocket Paintings: Whimsical Landscapes of Northern Michigan

In this workshop will approach landscapes with a playful eye. Using traditional watercolor techniques as well as mark making, we will create beautiful, colorful landscapes. Be prepared to see the watercolor and the landscape around you in a new way.
We will start the day with a hike around Green Door Folk School and Cedar North at J2 Farms, gathering inspiration, photos for reference and playing in a sketchbook. We will return to the classroom for lunch and a brief demonstration before working on a final landscape painting as a memory of your day.
Participants can expect to learn new techniques with watercolor. Everyone will create a painting memory of their day. Leave with some art supplies and hopefully a renewed sense of the creativity!
