Hand Sewn Leather Pouch
Spend two days immersed in the craft of hand sewn leather as you learn all of the skills necessary to take on your own leather-working projects. Students will have the opportunity to design and cut their own patterns before stitching their pieces together in a rhythmic and meditative flow! Watch your handwork transform into an object that you can use in your everyday life.
Meet Your Instructor:
Ted Gilmer
Ted Gilmer has spent a lifetime with tools in his hands. Whenever he’s had the chance to find materials, he’s taught himself how to turn them into something useful and well crafted. Merging his experience with wood and leather, he created the Leelenau Trading Company, a local leather goods business based in Empire. His balances practicality, function, and aesthetics, carefully selecting pieces and designing patterns. He is eager to translate his love for making into teaching, and to share the benefits of handwork with students.

Location: Green Door Folk School – 2312 E Kasson Rd, Cedar, MI
Date/Time: April 2nd – 3rd @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm each day
Cost: includes all materials necessary for the class
